COVID-19 Resources

The safety of our students, educators, families and supporters is our first priority, and at this time we believe that following the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommendation on social distancing is the best way we can protect the health of our community. Out of an abundance of caution, and in consultation with local public health authorities, City Academy will close in order to curb the potential transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Mayor Lyda Krewson has announced a mandatory 30-day “Stay at Home” order, and in light of this new restriction, all schools in the City of St. Louis have decided to extend their closures through April 22. This decision will be continually re-evaluated in coordination with the Mayor’s Office and Dr. Fredrick Echols, the Director of the City’s Department of Health.

We recognize the impact and added hardship this decision can place on our families and while we believe this is the best path forward, we want to support the community in any way we are able. We have compiled a list of resources to assist with health information or financial hardship due to the coronavirus. Please visit the COVID-19 Resources page, and check back often as we will update with additional resources as we receive them.

While everyone remains home, we encourage you to continue practicing good hygiene, which includes washing hands, avoid touching your face, and avoid close contact with others. Please stay informed of the situation by regularly checking updates from both the St. Louis County Public Health Department, St. Louis City Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The State of Missouri has also activated a hotline for Missouri citizens seeking COVID-19 guidance.  The number is 877-435-8411.

We will continue to update this page and through email and social media as things change. Please check back often as things are constantly evolving. Administrative staff will be working remotely and will be available by email if you have any questions.

At this time, most group activities will be canceled in keeping with the recommendations of local public health authorities. Please check this page frequently for additional updates and changes.
