“All children need to feel secure in their environment to ensure optimal learning. The counseling center is a safe place for students to express social and emotional concerns and to develop coping and communication skills that will assist them throughout their lives.”

Inside the Counseling Center

I will be at City Academy Monday through Thursday to meet with students and parents. I will meet with students individually once or twice each week for 30-45 minutes to discuss such concerns as anger management, friendship skills, coping skills, adjustment problems and others. Students may also meet in small groups of 4-5 students to address social skills. I will also be spending time in the classrooms to assist with character building and the C.A.R.E.S. model of education. Students may be referred to the counseling center by parents or teachers. Parents must sign a permission form before students attend individual sessions or social skills groups. If you have any questions about the counseling center or would like to refer your child, please contact me at extension 312 or use the e-mail form below. I’m looking forward to a wonderful school year!
