Ray Speed first joined the City Academy family student teaching in 2015 and is now our fifth grade teacher. Prior to teaching fifth grade at City Academy, Ray Speed was a Senior Business Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank. He worked in Corporate America for more than 20 years. His experience with Junior Achievement lead him from the conference room to the classroom. Ray completed the University of Missouri St. Louis’s post baccalaureate program in Spring 2016. He holds teaching certifications in Elementary (Grades 1-6) and Mild/Moderate Special Education (K-12). Ray is a huge tennis fan and is always looking for his next book to read. He started a non profit organization in December 2013 to assist individuals with misophonia – a rare neurological disorder he lives with.
