Prior to joining the City Academy faculty in 2011, Monette DeSimone served as a substitute teacher in the Kirkwood, Maplewood-Richmond Heights and University City School Districts. She also taught preschool for four years at the Downtown Children’s Center. An advocate for education, Monette is a member of Educators for Social Justice and National Association for Educators of Young Children (NAEYC) and serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Teachers’ Recycle Center, Inc. Monette is also the ISACS Teacher Representative for City Academy and a Certified Trainer for Novel Engineering.
