Summer at City 2009

Summer at City is City Academy’s extended program that operates for seven weeks through the summer months.

    • Session I (weeks 1, 2 & 3) and Session II (weeks 5, 6, & 7) include academic and enrichment opportunities. Families may choose to register students for either our morning program or our full day program. During the morning hours, students engage in academic tasks. The afternoon, students engage in enrichment activities and mini-camps.

    • During Exploration Week (week 4), students will travel off campus for exciting field trip experiences. Because of the extended time off campus, students must register for the full day session (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). There is not a half day academic program for this week.

NEW THIS YEAR - PLEASE READ!! Registration: The Summer at City registration is divided into two Sessions (3 weeks each) to accommodate familys’ summer schedule. This year, City Academy families are charged a flat “family plan” fee of $300 per session (or $150 per half day session). In order to take advantage of the family plan, each child in the plan must be either an incoming 2009-2010 student or a current C.A. student. ***** (All non-City Academy families must pay per child.)

All families registering for both Session I and Session II will receive the Exploration Week at no cost.

To register, please complete and submit the form included. One form per family.

**Non-City Academy Students!- All non- City Academy students MUST have a letter of recommendation from their current school in order to attend Summer at City. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.

Extended Care: Before Care (7:00 a.m. -8:00 a.m.) and After Care (4:00-5:00 p.m.) are provided and at no additional cost. However, families may be charged a late fee of $20 for every 15 minutes they are late if picking their child up after 5:00pm.

Tuition: We try to make Summer at City affordable for all families. Therefore, City Academy families choosing to attend our summer program do not pay summer tuition up front. Instead, summer tuition is paid with the regular school tuition over a ten month period.

Lunch/Snack: Breakfast and lunch are provided by City Academy for no extra fee. Students are required, however, to bring a daily nutritional afternoon snacks and drink that do not require heating or refrigeration. Soda, gum, candy, and snacks high in sugar, sodium, and fat are prohibited. We recommend fruits, vegetables, and other healthy items.

Arrival/Departure: Upon arrival and departure, an authorized adult over the age of 16 must enter the building and sign a form located in the school’s office. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Off- Campus Trips: We make opportunities throughout the summer to explore the greater St.Louis community. All students participating in Summer at City must have an authorized consent form on file in the main office at City Academy.

Dress Code: Students are NOT required to wear school uniforms. Instead, please make sure that you child comes to camp in appropriate attire that is comfortable and suitable for play. Students are expected to have fun and they may frequently get dirty in the process.
