In his third year at City Academy, Haliday teaches language arts and social studies while also supporting CA families through the secondary school application process. Prior to joining the City Academy faculty in the fall of 2008, Haliday managed programs, and, taught and mentored youth in an array of scholastic settings (including Aim High St. Louis, College Bound, and John Burroughs School). Haliday holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Literature from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. In his spare time, Haliday serves as a member of the Board of Friends for the Edison Theatre, sits on the advisory board for Prison Performing Arts, and serves as the regional chair for the alumni interview and admissions committee for Bowdoin College, his undergraduate alma mater. A former 2007 Salute to Excellence in Education awardee, Haliday has had the honor of accomplishing a lot in a relatively short period of time. Most recently, Haliday was awarded the status “Visiting Scholar” at Mercer University, where he took part in a summer research project on “Cotton Culture in the U.S. South” sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
