Associate Director of Development – Director of the Annual Fund

POSITION AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of the Annual Fund reports to the Director of Development and works closely with all administrative staff. The Director of the Annual Fund will plan and execute activities that contribute to increased fundraising capacity through the expansion of the school’s Annual Fund.

Specific responsibilities include:

Fundraising

  • Work with development office and development committee to plan and implement annual giving campaign strategies to meet financial goals.
  • Manage annual giving process inclusive of generating lists, producing letters, printing, sorting, mailing, and all aspects of direct mail.

· Manage call reports for annual giving acknowledgements, renewals, and pledge reminders.

· Assist development staff with the management of all strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and donor relations.

  • Work with development staff to manage grant renewal and reporting process.
  • Support maintenance of Blackbaud database, donor records, and gift processing.
  • Identify and research prospects and develop a cultivation strategy for prospects.
  • Develop cultivation strategies for upgrading and renewing donors.
  • Manage stewardship process for donors under $1,000.
  • Work with the City Academy Parent organization (CAP) to develop and implement parent centered fundraising programs to support the Annual Fund.
  • Help develop and implement strategies to promote City Academy’s mission and vision to both internal and external constituencies.
  • Support production of all major publications, including the Beacon newsletter, the Annual Report, Monthly Minute e-mail blasts, and the School’s website.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years professional fundraising experience. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. Candidates must understand and appreciate the challenges of working in a small office, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge or an equivalent database.
