Character Education


Character education is incorporated into the daily experiences of the students to help them become responsible and caring individuals. Any number of themes promote character education: Citizenship and respecting rules; compassion and kindness; Fairness and cooperation; appreciating diversity; honesty and responsibility; perseverance, choices and consequences; respect and manners; self-discipline and attaining goals; trustworthiness and dependability.

Sixth-grade students participate in the Middle School United Nations program that promotes local and global citizenship by bringing together students from independent and public schools from all over St. Louis. At a simulated UN session, students from diverse backgrounds and opinions discuss ideas and learn about themselves and each other.
