City Academy held its first annual Art Dash event on May 5, 2007 at the Drive Agency downtown. The event raised over $26,000 and was attended by over 150 guests.
Art Dash is a unique way for couples to own a new piece of art while having fun obtaining it. The evening began with all guests being assigned to a group. When their group was called they had to “dash” to the piece they wanted and claim it as their own. The event featured over 90 pieces of art, which was all donated by local artists. Along with the “dash” there were also live and silent auctions featuring work by notable professionals including Azhad Bogosian, Mary Engelbreit, Leon Hicks and Ann Ter Pergossian.

Additional thanks to Butler’s Pantry, Catering Plus, Something Elegant and Simply Fondue for donating all the food. A very special thanks to Three Sinks Gallery and Neal Framing for donating time, materials and recruiting artists. We especially want to acknowledge our Steering Committee for a job well done, particularly the Co-Chairs Amy Dove and Barbara Landesman. George and Ellen Pace also did a great deal to make the event possible.
