City Academy's Annual Giving Campaign is unique because of its emphasis on gifts of scholarship; however, the Campaign does much more than generate funds for scholarship and operating expenses. City Academy's Annual Giving Campaign keeps City Academy's tuition affordable, and the school financially accessible for families.
City Academy's fiscal reality is different from most independent schools because tuition only generates 20% of the total operating budget. As a result, 80% of the operating budget must be raised through a combination of investment income from endowment and private donations from the broader community.
All families must pay a minimum tuition, and the average actual payment per family is close to $3,000; however, the actual cost to educate each student is closer to $13,000.
Gifts of scholarship are not restricted, and funds raised through Annual Giving are also applied toward operating expenses.

Contributors are asked to make an annual commitment of at least $2,500.
